I'd like to change my answer for #7. I think the group is Paul Revere and the Raiders and the conflicting band members are Paul Revere and Mark Lindsay.xhjzt

pjazz,

great job as usual. 7 & 9 threw you and 3 was hard!

malc,

nice save on #7. i knew that the raider had been asked to woodstock, but i never knew why they turned it down until i researched it.

in my research on KISS, "Beth" was the only top ten song that i could find. what other song were you thinking of? good job on #3 as well.

beck,

you did better than you thought - knowing "Beth" was really good because you had to be real young when that song was popular. and i thought some of your answers were hilarious...

All in all, a good week ya'll...

best to you,
Editor

Hi Editor: Thanks! Changing my answer to #7 was a slight risk, but I like to roll the dice every now and then. Since they also missed a chance to perform at Woodstock, I orig. said Tommy James and the Shondells. However, because I couldn't imagine which Shondell was in a powerful enough position to challenge Tommy James, I figured that might be wrong. Since I try whenever possible not to leave an answer blank, I put it down anyway.

While still trying to think of another pop group with bubblegum leanings, Paul Revere and the Raiders came to me. The story you described in the question fit them better than Tommy James and the Shondells since Raiders' lead singer Mark Lindsay was pretty much Paul Revere's equal in the band.

The other top 10 hit that Kiss had was the ballad "Forever", which reached #8 in early 1990. Incidentally, it was written by Pjazzy's favorite artist (Michael Bolton).

Malcolm, You are crazy:) By the way, I finally saw "Office Space" last week. Funny stuff!

I knew Tommy James had blown it in regards to Woodstock, as did The Beatles and some other acts, but I did not know about Paul Revere and the Raiders.
